Was this my fault so I know for next time and I know if I should be beating myself up

We had been messaging daily for 12 days in a row . We had 44 back and forth messages to each other not counting double texts so I thought we had built rapport and I didn’t want to run out of things to talk about on our date. On Monday evening I thought we confirmed the date as she replied “that’s perfect” I didn’t message her again until Thursday midday (day of the date) to confirm. Then she said she now had plans. Was I at fault?
I think that you should never arrange a date for some days later, and not message her between those days. In my experience, they almost always they cancel, if you didnt message them. At the start you need to be more invested in her, than she in you.
Just keep messaging her, and remind her of the date one day before, and the same day. For me, it works most of the time.

Okay thanks now I know for next time. Because it was only 24 hrs of no texting I thought it was fine as I thought the date was locked in and was just planning on waiting until tomorrow to confirm the date. Was it mainly my fault the date fell through?

Actually it wasn’t Monday evening it was Tuesday 6:30pm she replied saying “that’s perfect” so I thought the date was locked in. Was I at fault here? Thanks

yea bro, unfortunately that was a mistake on your part. If you dodn't confirm earlier the girl is gonna "pre emptively flake". It is very common. The right call wouldve been to message her wed night with a playful reminder like "pick out a cute outfit for tomorrow yet"
