Idk it was looking like a layup at first. She was responsive then went silent after we both basically said we’re looking for the same thing. Something about girls in Michigan man, it’s like even when they’re very DTF theyll still act prude/defensive. Being sexual seems to blow a lot of potential lays out. Like I’m better off playing the nice guy role until I get the date.

Absolutely I get exactly what you’re saying. Those subtleties change the whose message being conveyed.
Not sure what to follow up with now. Do I pull back and assume she didn’t like the text? Or change the thread and see if she gives me a clue if something turned her off?

I probably wouldn't just brush it off and change threads. Probably best to wait a few days then call it out or takeaway. "Not the answer you were looking for?" or you could say "If you're into that sorta thing" although I find this one somewhat weird in this situation since its almost conveying that your answer might have been different had you known she wasn't into that sorta thing. A mouthful but I hope you understand what I mean
