Yes, this sounds like a girl who should've been screened out over text. If she was being difficult from the start and refused to meet at the bar near your place than the date shouldn't have happened in the first place.
Personally, I screen by making sexual innuendos and/or inviting the girls straight to my place for wine. This will screen out the annoying prudes majority of the time. However, once in a while one will slip though the crack. If a girl is being purposely combative I will either troll her or directly call out her behavior. I definitely wouldn't bother wasting 2 hours of my time ignoring the elephant in the room.
In terms of your low closing ratio, I highly recommend that you start screening the girls for being DTF over text and than invite them straight to your place. That will help your mind reset than, you can start going on the more "challenging" dates .
