Say something like "if you're into that" or something like "If you're shy, I'd totally understand"

Thanks. I'm curious whether I went for the soft close too early as well. There seemed to be a natural opening so I went for it.

Yes it was pretty early in the conversation. You had to build some connection and comfort first. But let's see what happens
