For situations like this, you typically want to build on it and find ways to add to the banter you got going, like jenga as you stack blocks on top of each other Your last text was a bad because it de-escalated the conversation off the rails . In regards to a better response, you could have said something along the lines of, "Cars are for sissies. Let's just skip to our honeymoon we've always talked about"
