Hi everyone,
My request can seem a little bit “dumb” but more than an answer, I want to know WHY do I have to answer to “this” instead of “that”
Recently, I did the “Text Game Quizz” and I enjoyed a lot, specially because there were all the answers with some arguments
(Yes I am in learning mode)
It’s the beginning of an interaction on Bumble and I use the Alex infamous sentence “I was waiting for you to message me” after the girl messaged me.
But now, I want to know what to answer and why.
My try : “For ages”
(I am not a fan of this answer because it means that I am waiting for her move (and I do nothing else)
But at the same time, the answer is short, can be taken as a joke.
What are your thoughts on that ?

Honestly, it seems like you're overthinking this a little. It's the very beginning of the conversation and there's no need to stress about keeping the opener charade going. Anyway, I would just go with a simple "Nah don't worry, so what are you up to on this fine ________?(Whatever day it is)" Your goal is to start to vibe and move the conversation forward, you don't want to be stuck in a platonic situation or where you're talking about the opener too much because it becomes harder to sexualize, etc.
