Re-Soft close or hard close?
So after a sort of successful soft close (liked my message) I went for the number and got no response for a week. Re-opened with “or not” and got a response. So should I soft close again since it’s been some time?

She's obviously lying. If she wanted to give out her number she would've done it, since you already asked for it. Say "Alright. I'd love to chat with you a bit, I'll give you my number but please don't blow up my phone. Text me [NUMBER]"

you're trying to close her number off a purely sexual text. The reason she isn't following through (IMO) is that she doesnt want to agree to meet on those terms because she'd feel over committed to sex, and that you're just getting her there to fuck. In response to "I think I can handle that..." I would have said something like "Think? Hope you're more confident in person ;)" or some bullshit. As played, I'd say "Ditch the flip phone. It's killing your game". Build a bit more investment, then "Do you like wine?" Or whatever your date sequence is
