A girl I hooked up with last night showed me about 30 or so Bumble, Hinge, Snapchat, and Instagram DMs. I told her I was curious what guys are DM’ing her and if they tend to fail a lot.

I also tried to predict what dudes say such as “oh I bet you get a lot of bad openers or ones that are difficult to respond to.” She smiled, didn't say a word, and excitedly started to pull up the DMs.

As predicted, I saw consistent flaws in the DMs.

Here are some takeaways:

• Guys go for the meetup right away without any vibing. Causing her to just go straight to no.

• Giving the girl TOO much value such as “You are the girl of my dreams (heart eyes emoji x 3).” She will just go “thanks :)” and the guy will go “Sorry but, I have to ask, can I take you out on a date?” She ends up saying no politely or just ignoring.

• Very few used takeaways. The ones who used takeaways were the typically the player type guy (Dressed well, decent photos, fit).

• Guys are endless chat buddies with the girl without moving anything forward. No sexual intent.

• One dude chatted with her for months, showed no sexual intent, then randomly dropped a sexual intent. She kept on throwing this dude a bone, but the guy NEVER moved it forward! Never asked to hang out to make shit happen. She said this guy was annoying because it took him this long to move it forward.

• There are a LOT of DM’s on each of the many social/dating platforms. She’s had some sitting or left on read on purpose.

• For Instagram, she finds that low post amount, shitty quality photos (blurry, pixelated), and private accounts are red flags and will almost dismiss you immediately.
