You didn’t really do anything wrong and try Jan’s suggestion. The only thing I’d tweak is being a little more coy with what you’ve been up to. Something like “I’ve been working on this big social media project, a lot of work but going well”. Then she might get curious and it’s less of an obvious dhv.
