So I sent her a cheesy line and she responded with "oh gosh" and a facepalm emoji. But she also added "that was a good one".

It then goes into my facepalming in person message and her saying "LMAO" (as shown in the screenshot). I then asked if I can be honest(bad move since its usually better as an opener), and I then proceed to lazily ask her out on a date. It was super abrupt and not smoothly woven into the conversation like Alex emphasizes(and how I usually do). It was also a bad move because I didn't have enough investment from her. My double text also failed. I have two questions.

1. For next time, when a girl says "lol" or "lmao"(like I highlighted with the red circle), what's a good go-to response?

2)I know it's probably over and I blew it but if I do wait a week to reengage, is there anything I could say to potentially salvage this? I was thinking of hitting her up with a voice note asking how her exams are(since it is exam season). Thoughts?
