Some context: me and this girl met at a grocery store and have been texting for about 2 weeks. tonight we have a date planned & asked her to come straight over for netflix. Now fast forward, the day of the date, i reconfirm with her. But i get hit with this. How should i go forward?

She wants to meet you in person beforehand. Just go to a bar to check that you aren’t a weirdo

It's not an objection as much as it is a hint that she doesn't truly feel comfortable with that for whatever reason. I would say something like "Yeah. We can go for a nice romantic stroll first"
