How to text a girl you didn't smash on the first date?

Whats up guys,
Went on a date last night. Went well. We made out at the bar but wasn't able to get her back to my place.
How do you guys usually proceed? Do I wait for her to text me? Do I text her the classic "last night was fun thanks for coming out"? Is that too boring and beta?
Would love to hear some opinions!

If you guys made out at the bar but she rejected your suggestion to go back to your place (I'm assuming that's what you mean by "wasn't able") then your chances of seeing her again aren't that great. Anyways, I would just text her something like "I had a great time, it was nice seeing you" and then if she responds positively move the convo towards a second date.

I dont agree with this. Ive had plenty of dates that I didnt close on the first date but made it happen down the road
If I have a public first date I usually don't even try kissing the girl so I'm not saying not closing is the issue, it only becomes an issue if you try to close but the girl rejects it. Girls usually reject your close because they do not want to have sex with you yet for whatever reason and you pushing towards closing will be a turn off for them. Also not saying that it kills your chances but IMO it does definitely lower them.
