You could go ahead say that but in a very more short & succinct manner then just switch topics such as.. “Are you from here originally.”
The opener is just to get her bite into the interaction, now you want to vibe with her, banter a little, make her qualify herself to you, ingrain the date in her mind, then soft close to hard close in an optimal way.
