Cold approached this girl in Starbucks last Friday. We agreed to go on a date and get iced caps (a Canadian iced coffee drink). Texting went well between us, but she flaked on our date this Friday because her roommate mught have covid and she wanted to stay home. It seemed like a genuine excuse so I didn't want to pullback or push for the meetup and be a dick about it. But I think my last text mightve been too understanding/being a pushover.

How do you deal with valid objections without being a pushover?
