Context: Tinder girl, we were supposed to Facetime last Friday, but she bailed cause she was on shrooms lol
Anyway, I reengaged her this past Tuesday and she was triggered by the voice memo I sent:
"Hey, I’m doing great, and that sounds fantastic, I’m jealous, joshua tree is one of my favorite places, but gaylen, how about you tell me about it over FaceTime, for all I know your a russian hacker trying to steal my identity”
She didn't get the joke.
I wanted to send her another empathetic text tomorrow as a last hurrah since she's pretty hot. Something to this effect:
"Look, I totally understand where you’re coming from and I'd be frustrated too... the actual reason I asked that is that something bad happened to me a few months ago and now I’m extra cautious. It’s not personal. You seemed pretty cool."

She’s a retard. Chances are if she gets so triggered over that then the date wouldn’t be that great anyway.
One big thing I would do differently is I wouldn’t apologize. Often that is the nail in the coffin in these situations because you validate that she’s in the right and you’re in the wrong. Usually, the opposite approach is what actually saves the day
For instance, when she said that first butthurt text, I would’ve been even more direct “You do realize, I was kidding right”
After the second text, I would’ve said “No, it’s hard for me to understand someone getting so triggered by an innocent joke”
And then I would proceed to break down her frame and get her to think “ok, maybe I am bieng silly”
But changing the topic and apologizing for situations where you’re actually in the right is a low value move. At this point this one is done unfortunately
ha, ive noticed some girls actually do take offense at the whole cat fishing thing. love tryna understand women but dont get the genuine offense. I just personally steer convo in other ways. even though you were joking
then again some guys are truly fucking weird on these apps (ive heard some girls tell stories about guys 'demanding' to see pics of them without makeup to prove theyre real, that shit prob gets old fast). I imagine it also sends subliminal messages that the guy might not be used to talking to girls that hot, so he assumes they cant be real. eg shes 'better than him'
