Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right place to post something like this. But I have enjoyed the balanced nature of this community which tows the line nicely between cold hard truths and positivity/support for your fellow man. Anyways feel free to delete if it doesn't meet forum guidelines.

My ex dumped me 7 months ago, and although my greatest wish is for her to stay in the past both mentally and physically with no further contact whatsoever, I go through waves of thinking about her, exclusively negative, angry thoughts mostly about things left unsaid, etc. I can't seem to leave my ego at the door.

Since the breakup I've put on a bunch of muscle, got a really good job that pays well offering more freedom in my life including some pretty great hookups.
Recently I've cranked up the exercise routine to 11 and go between 6-7 days a week.

Despite all these improvements, she still lives in my head rent free.

So the typical methods of healing - "get over her by getting under many women", "Get a better job/promotion at work", "lift heavy shit" haven't been the medicine I was hoping for.

Any advice from personal experience?

Any comments are welcome. I just want some piece of fuckin mind.

Go to therapy? Sometimes it helps getting an external, un-biased view from someone and also some tools in your toolbelt on how to deal with it.
It has helped me immensely in my life and everyone should have it. :)

What helped me get over my ex fairly quickly was realizing that since she broke up with me she didn't value me that much, and hence I shouldn't waste any time thinking about her. You can instead channel that discomfort into things like building muscle etc... which will then in turn help you get even higher quality girls. Also keep thinking with an abundance mindset, there are thousands of girls out there who are exactly like she was so she isn't irreplacable by any means.

Yeah. Keep giving it time. But also, any time she pops into your head, catch yourself and immerse yourself in a hobby. Or go out and hang out with some buddies. That way, you can actually have something to do. You overthink about someone when you're not preoccupied doing something productive
