The opener wasn't great because perhaps a lot of people comment on her freckles and in general, you're not giving her a lot to respond to, just complimenting her. Also, you're complimenting her on something she essentially has no control over so it's seen as less genuine as an "I like your style" compliment if that makes sense. The takeaway line you tried to use "barely check this" wasn't the greatest and came off a little butthurt that she didn't reply to your message. Your goal is to keep a fun and flirty vibe, not to get mad at the girl.

That doesn't mean you can't call her out though, I would have gone with something like "Damn are you always this talkative:)?" or something but generally, I don't use takeaways on girls I open unless I really think I would vibe with her or I find her extraordinarily attractive, this is because if a girl didn't respond to your opener, chances are she won't be as interested and if you send a lot of openers, it doesn't make sense to go through and send each and every one of the messages, a followup takeaway if that makes sense.

As for right now, just go with the convo, she seems to have ignored your takeaway and responded, which is fine. Move things forward, you could go with something like "How was your weekend?" or "Give me the basics ____: kids? tattoos? crazy kinks? any felonies?"
