My Tinder account got banned recently. I created a new one using a new google account with a new google voice number registered to a different name. I downloaded the app using a different google play account with a VPN on my phone. Cropped all my pictures slightly and scrubbed all the EXIF & Metadata from the photos using an app. My bio I kept the same, changed my birthdate by one day. No matches yet which seems a bit odd. Is it true that tinder now bans the actual device IMEI and this process won't work anymore? I have an old iPhone I can probably use to create an account if that is true. I was told that getting a new SIM card won't even work anymore.

Yes. Tinder is doing that now. But the IMEI changes when you do a factory reset on the phone. You could always do that instead of buying a new phone

Apple forbids apps from uniquely identifying a device for privacy concerns. If they are indeed doing that they are opening themselves up to being removed from the app store and possibly legal action.
