So I live with my parents so logistically, my go-to would be her place. She's already under the impression we're going to a coffee shop but I'm going for the lay. I plan to say something like "I just realized the coffee place I was planning on taking u to would've already been closed and I live too far from my campus. Assuming u live by yourself or with a roommate, your place would be most convenient."
Would it be better in these kinda of scenarios to agree to a place closer to the arranged date time so she has less time to reconsider?

I live with my 'rents too man and this is how I've done it successfully. You go on date 1 and make it a banger. Walk/hiking date, or go get drinks at venue 1 and then another round at venue 2. If the date goes according to plan and you at-least make out before the end, theres a very high chance she wants date 2 to happen. The thing is I live on the main / lower level of my folks, so girls don't have to have any awkward run in's or encounters with family. I pitch the second date as movies/drinks/fun questionaire type of game and or cuddles. I also have an actually true story of how I was planning on moving out but my sublease fell thru. They walk straight in from the garage into the basement then my bedroom and then its on. Not sure what your situation is like but hopefully that will give some ideas. Trying to pull to a girls place on date 1 is gonna be extremely difficult as they don't want to come across as a slut.

yeah 8pm is kinda late for coffeee. But that aside i do not recommend sending that text. Its gonna come off as dishoneest like you're trying to pull a fast one on her. Once you propose something, you kinda have to follow through on it. also if you want to invitee yourself to a girls house, you have to sexualize the convo which wasn't done here
She want's you to pick her up so you can try to close her in the car after the date

She only said if I wanted to pick her up so I think it's still possible to close at hers. How else would you frame it as such?
I don't prefer to initiate sexualization over text if we never met in-person before since I feel like it might slut-shame them and turn them away.

If you are trying to meet at the girls place, sexualizing over text is kind of necessary. Otherwise it's gonna come out weird and even potentially shady
