are generic openers ok?
sometimes i feel like i try too hard to think of something witty, are openers like "hey hows your day" a complete death sentence to an interaction? it seems like every dating coach advises against being generic.

The reason they say this is because generic openers don't grab her attention, and if you don't get her attention then the chances are high of her not responding, think about it, every beta male or "normal guy" is sending her these generic openers which make it boring
what if your profile is better than most. it's like if a high value guy approaches vs. a low value one in real life, you can get away with being more boring because your looks and status do the talking for you right? i think there are certain guys she swipes right on that she looks forward to a message from, maybe you're one of them and all you need is "hows your day"

No they’re not. But they’re a bit too generic and it’s easy to get lost in the pile of messages for girls. Let’s take a spectrum
Super plain / generic < ——— (half way)———-> Super extreme/ gamey
I like to be to the left of the half way point but still unique enough to not be completely plain
