I live in NYC, met a woman in my dance class, then we casually met for a drink one night. I walked her to her building and leaned in for a kiss but she gave me the cheek. We've been in touch via text since (2 weeks ago). She just proposed that we go to an evening museum exhibit and then to a Cuban restaurant where they have live music. An Uber to the restaurant could be $30. The restaurant is pricey (dinner and drinks for two could be $175-200). I could afford it but don't have a lot of money. She seems pretty cool and I don't know if she will offer to split it. I feel like I'll be on edge until that point of the evening occurs. What to do? A) Say that it seems too pricey for me or say my budget is $100. B) Make up a reason to cancel the date and propose drinks another time.

These are good points Bob, thank you. We had talked about art and going to a museum, but she tacked on the expensive restaurant.

Best way I can think of to dodge it is I would come up with something like you knowing the area where the art museum is well and that there's a nice place close to there. Should work

Ok thanks Bob! The only complication is that I met her in salsa class and this restaurant she chose has some live Latin music as well. So that's why she suggested it.
