What would you recommend to a newbie who wants to get to the intermediate/advanced level as soon as possible. How many nights a week? How many hours? Focus on career, or game?

It really depends on where exactly you are at and what your sticking points are. Age is also a factor. Generally, career won't directly help you get laid. Not saying it's not important. But, pursue your career because it's something you're passionate about, or because you want to make more money, but don't hope that a career will affect your sex life directly
For getting laid? I would focus on the following 3 things
Number 3. How fast 3 would happen. Some guys learn game super fast and for some it takes years. If you provide more info about yourself, I can give you a more specific answer
Also, this should go without saying, get the pwf product, it will teach you a lot of important shit very fast
