matched with a cutie. Asked for the number and got no response. Anything I can do to save it? I feel like this consistently happens to me and I'm wondering if I should just never go for the phone number. Or maybe I'm not doing it right?

Probs not salvageable now. Your going for the date to early in the interaction. When you mentioned the date in your 2nd message she didn’t respond positively and went sideways, you should of matched that instead of pushing for the date again

Why would you say that was the 2nd message? You can see it's scrolled down, there was conversation before the screenshots.
That said, you double texted, which is bad form. You are also pushing for a response see soon. Give girls 2 days to respond before sending another text. So if you don't here from her by Sunday afternoon, then respond with "or carrier pigeon will do."

Guessing you dont know how Hinge works. The very top message was him adding a note to the pic he liked hense why its a different colour. So his send 1st actual message after they matched was a mention of date without building any investment first. So was always gonna be high risk high reward.
