if i text a girl "hey it's __" and get no response is there anything to double text after that or just leave it alone. context is i've met these girls in the daytime at my gym. has only happened a couple times in the last month and i just left it alone since i might see them again in person. but i feel like i should at least send a second text to be persistent.

No, definitely not. That would come off needy or butthurt. Benefit of the doubt is she never received it or forgot to respond.
