This girl double texted me. I've been criticized for being too gamey and now can't think of anything to say to keep the conversation flowing. (Just a side note, initially we were going to meet in-person, but I hurt my back while exercising, so I told her that we'll meet on video chat instead. The date is set up for this Saturday. How do I move the conversation in a non-gamey way? I feel like I exhausted the topic of Mardi Gras.

I was going to say her “Yeah, I didn't have your email lol, is Mardi Gras something you have always wanted to go to since you were little?” to try to make a deeper connection before the date

Your text seems fine

Sending the link that early was bad form. Made you seem overly eager. Same mistake is common with sending the address. You want to hold off as long as possible with things like that. Sometimes I even make them ask for the address before I send it. If I were you, I'd act like it never happened and only respond to the Mardi Gras text. It's Mardi Gras... it's a tit parade. Say "Did you earn any beads? 😏"

How would one respond in a fun flirty way, below is what I was planning to text back to open a new thread and learn whether she can cook (Just want to know if this is too gamey, and if so how could it be improved?):

"Look at that beauty, now you got a source for staying hydrated on your flight back lol. Do you happen to bake and cook? That would make a great coconut cake and pie."

As a general rule, say less.

"Do you bake? That would make a great coconut cake."
