Hey guys,

Matched on Hinge with a cute Italian girl who seems to be an exchange student. I did my opener to sub-communicate several things:

  1. I've been to Italy, so I want to establish a couple of connections (been to her home country, and want to banter about something)
  2. Banter is about pizza
  3. My drafted reply (not sent yet) is to give her the excuse to come to my place. Seems silly to me to ask an Italian girl "do you like wine" given that it's almost like water for them. However, I'm still letting her know that there will be wine. How would ya'll text her next? @avilench .

"Sounds like an invitation smirk Are you known for giving great recommendations?"

if she says yes

"Interesting! If it's as good as you say, I might have to reward you ;)"

Sets up sexualizing. From there you can sexualize more or just wine close with something like

"The real question is though, do you like wine?"

"come to my place and teach me" requires too much compliance from her at this point in the conversation. Probably better to hint at the idea of a date first and say something like "Maybe we should try it on our date ;)". If she responds positively, you can follow up with, "I'll get the wine ready" or something like that.

Also, I don't think asking "do you like wine" is silly even if she's Italian. I'm Italian-American but don't like wine and it's not big in our family.

Curious to see what Alex says.

Thanks brother. OK, I'll queue that response but will wait and see if Alex has any feedback, if not, I'll go with yours.
