There was a giant thread on this in the old PWF fb group. Unfortunately, it got wiped during Facebooks purge, but I wanted to sum up the big takeaways for anyone who is struggling with hair loss Believe it or not, I started losing hair in my early 20s. And it was fucking scary. Especially, because I have a bad family history with hair loss. My dad is bald and my moms dad was bald. Fortunately, I took pretty rapid action and as a result stopped the cycle and even have more hair now then I did years ago. Some people negatively believe that hair loss is 100% predetermined by your genetics and there is nothing you can do to change that. Fortunately, that is not the case. There are in fact numerous tools at your disposal that have proven to be effective (as long as you don’t wait too long). In this article, I’m just going to focus on the ones I personally use. Rogaine/Minodoxil - Is actually quite effective if used consistently. The only downside is that if you stop using it, then most of your hair gains will dissapear. Personally, I’ll happily spend $25 a month for the rest of my life to have a full head of hair Dermarolling - This goes very well with Rogaine. And while, it may sound like some new age bullshit, it is scientifically proven to work. (Study in link) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746236/ You basically want to dermaroll your scalp once a week, 24 hours apart from all rogaine treatments. Don’t do both at the same exact time as the rogaine will get into your blood stream which is not good Prp Injections - Also very effective at reversing hair loss and regrowing hair. Generally you’re supposed to do three two months apart for maximum effect. And then one every year or so for maintenance. (I personally, did three). The downside is that they’re expensive and pretty painful, but still definitely worth it in my opinion saw palmetto supplement - This works naturally to block your body from converting testosterone to DHT (the molecule responsible for hair loss). I have been taking saw palmetto for years now. It’s available cheaply on amazon Fixing vitamin deficiencies - In some cases, the cause of the hair loss is a vitamin/mineral deficiency. I recommend for everyone to get a detailed vitamin/mineral panel done to see exactly what’s going on in their body. I recommend the Spectra cell Micronutrient Panel (I do one every few years) https://www.spectracell.com/micronutrients-clinician Hopefully this helps anyone struggling with hair loss. Let me know if you have any questions :)

sweet my first post. minox is cool but its kind of a bandaid imo, doesnt address the root of hair loss but helps grow back existing hair at a rate where it might look that its working. would go on it but the sides scare me, including water retention and potentially deleterious to collagen production (in vitro but still)
I dont suffer from tremendous hair loss but have been on dutasteride for a while and happy w the results. it suppresses dht conversion upwards of 90% which as im sure you know is the main culprit in androgenic alopecia. I dont trust anything that doesnt work at the hormonal level
I also use a ketoconazole shampoo but im fairly certain its had no effect, at this point its just habit, plus my hair is noticeably thicker the next day
I like to follow Kevin Mann and that moreplatesmoredates guy on YT as far as hair loss stuff in concerned, lotta good info on their pages

Welcome man. Does dutasreride have the same side effects as propecia?

seems so. in theory sides should be higher due to greater dht suppression, but anecdotally and in the research the sides seems to be the same. should be fine for most men provided low body fat and test/estro within normal reference range
