So I'm having the issue a lot of guys are having specifically with Hinge where I only really see fat or unattractive women. Now im not gonna sit here and call my profile a 10, but its pretty well put together and performs much better on other apps. Also im shown women who are actually attractive on other apps. So my question is this, i know some people say its because of that ELO score (i dont necessarily agree since im doing decently well on other apps), lets say i start "liking" these unattractive women and presumably get a lot of matches. Would that pump up my profile and help it get shown more to attractive women OR would it just start seeing these unattractive women as "my type" and exclusively show me them? Also, could it have to do with area? Because I was thinking maybe most hot women in my area are satisfied between Bumble and Tinder, then only the ones who aren't got Hinge? I downloaded all 3 simultaneously when i started online dating I've just noticed Hinge gives me the worst results.

I will reiterate: this is not due to you having a low Elo score due to a bad profile. This is a known bug in Hinge experienced by tons of guys.
The only suspected way to get around it is to set your distance/age settings to a narrow band, X out all the fatties, and then start using your 8 likes on normal chicks. Eventually, you'll match with enough normal chicks that your Elo will be reset.
HOWEVER, I tried this out and after a week and a half I still see only fat chicks when I expand my preferences band again, even though I've matched with some reasonably attractive girls (see attached). It's possible it just takes longer to adjust, or that guys who think it adjusted had just Xed all the ugly girls in their range.

Yea i saw that post you had, this was more a followup to see if that might work. What you said does work, but tbh it seems like at a certain point you run out of women within that small window and it repeats the ones u disliked. So idk if its a longterm solution. Doing that definitely proves that this is a glitch though, because all of a sudden u get through the ugly women and its one attractive woman after the other. Seems like they either have more unattractive women or for some reason they want to promote them over the attractive women. Btw my friend made an account on Saturday, that day it was fine but like magic the next day he runs into the same issue we're having.

You have to move your preferences window after you run out of chicks. So if you're 18-19 and run out, move it to 18-20.
